Installation of the gas line within the Temporary Lodging Facility (TLF) area is complete and ready for future hook-up to the temporary compressed natural gas system.

The trench excavation for the gas line located at the TLF will also accommodate electrical cable to power up the natural gas system.

Planned activities for the week of August 23rd include continuing to advance the Early Earth Works within the Kenogamisis and S4 Aggregate Pits, the installation of power poles and modules including finishing work within the modules, commissioning of electrical, potable water, sewage and natural gas systems within the Temporary Lodging Facility, road construction and upgrades, and mechanical, electrical and piping work within the Temporary Effluent Water Treatment Plant building.

What's coming next:

The Temporary Effluent Water Treatment Plant (TEWTP) located South of Hardrock Road, will continue with activities such as mechanical, electrical and piping work within the TEWTP building. Early Earth Works in the Kenogamisis Pit located North of Highway 11 behind Between Bridges Inn continues and includes the extraction and crushing of gravel for upcoming construction activities. Activities within the Temporary Lodging Facility (TLF) pad area such as the erection of lodging facility modules and interior finishing and interconnects between units continues. Additionally, the installation of the gas line within the TLF area is complete and commissioning of electrical, potable water, sewage and the natural gas system will commence. These activities will cause additional tractor trailer traffic on Highway 584 and Old Arena Road leading to the TLF entrance. Work will continue on the Temporary Power Line with the installation of power poles along the East Service Road and the future Main Site Access Road. The installation of modules for the Main Construction Office Complex within the Process Plant Site area is complete with interior and exterior work in progress. Construction of the Haul Road Service Access located between the future Plant Site and Tailings Management Facility will commence. Construction of access to the future Communication Tower pad located near the S4 Aggregate Pit is complete and upgrades to Lahtis Road are also complete for this stage. The installation of High Density Polyethylene water lines will continue on the East Service Road. Construction of an access road within the MacLeod High Tailings (MHT) area will commence in preparation for the future construction of the MHT seepage collection system. The MHT seepage collection system, located on the north side of the historical MHT is designed to intercept and collect existing seepage currently discharging to Barton Bay East. The water will then be sent to the TEWTP for treatment and will be discharged back into Kenogamisis Lake once it meets regulatory discharge criteria.

The Early Earth Works within the Kenogamisis and S4 Aggregate Pits, road construction and upgrades, the installation of modules and power poles involve the use of heavy equipment such as: zoom booms, cranes, excavators, bulldozers, tri-axle haul trucks, and loaders. For health and safety reasons, we wish to caution the general public to limit non-essential traffic within Hardrock Road and the TEWTP area and to follow and obey posted signs across the Project area.

The safety of our employees, contractors and the general public is paramount as we continue to prepare for construction of the Greenstone Mine.
