Power Plant First Engine Start Up with Commissioning Team
Planned activities for the week of August 21st include ongoing earthworks within the Tailings Management Facility (TMF), piping, electrical and equipment installation for various buildings within the Plant Site area and drilling, blasting and hauling of rock from the open pit to support the construction of the TMF.

Greenstone Mine wishes to advise the public that open pit activities are underway. Greenstone Mine will be conducting scheduled blasts within the Open Pit. A link to the Blasting Notices is located on the company website homepage.
At the Process Plant east end, work on the two ball mills and cyclones along with electrical and piping continues. At the west end, work is ongoing for various process sub-areas, with equipment installation nearing completion and electrical and piping activities ongoing. Installation of the lime storage silo is ongoing as is the concrete for the containment walls around the larger tanks. At the crushers, piping is close to complete as electrical and cladding work continues. At the High Pressure Grinding Rolls (HPGR), installation of the HPGR is nearing completion while electrical cable pulling continues. Cladding of the Ore Storage Dome has commenced. All conveyor structures are now erected with installation of the belts ongoing. At the Power Plant, commissioning of the six engines has started. Paving of the Main Access Road in to the site using recycled asphalt from sections of the closed highway nears completion.
The Highway 11 realignment is substantially complete with final inspections by the Ministry of Transport in progress. The old portion of the highway, including access to it through the MacLeod townsite, is now closed to the public. The closure will allow GGM more flexibility with the pit blasting as well as to complete piping work for water management in that area.
At the TMF, earthworks on the dam walls with rock from the open pit is ongoing.
Mine mobile equipment components continue to arrive and be assembled.
The public are reminded to continue to obey all posted signs across the Project area for everyone’s health and safety. Construction in and around Greenstone Mine involves the use of heavy equipment such as haul trucks, zoom booms, cranes, drills, excavators, skidders, bulldozers, tri-axle haul trucks, articulated trucks and loaders. The extensive project work over the last year has significantly changed the landscape resulting in many new hazards. For health and safety reasons, do not enter any unauthorized or active work areas within the Project footprint unless authorized to do so.
The safety of our employees, contractors and the general public is paramount as we construct the Greenstone Mine.
